Here at Doggy Day Care Brisbane, we're big believers that training and socialisation go hand in hand. A well-trained dog who also gets regular social time with other dogs is genuinely a happier, calmer, more balanced dog, and that's a win for everyone.

So we've put together an offer that brings both of those things together: enrol in one of our group training classes and receive a free day care trial day.

No strings, no catches, just a chance for your fur kid to experience both sides of what we do at DDCB.

Here's everything you need to know about the offer, what our group classes involve, and why this combination of training and day care is one of the best things you can do for your dog's long-term wellbeing.

The Offer: Free Day Care Trial for Group Class Participants

If you're enrolled in one of DDCB's group training classes — including our puppy school and obedience classes — you're eligible for a free trial day at our day care facility.

How to redeem it: Book your free trial session in advance by contacting our team directly — just let us know you're a current group class participant and we'll get you scheduled at no cost. Please don't arrive without a booking, as we need to ensure we have space and staff prepared for your dog's arrival.

What's included in the trial day: Your dog will spend a full day at DDCB's enrichment and activity-based day care. They'll join supervised play groups with other dogs, take part in enrichment activities (puzzles, scent work, water games, group games and more), have structured rest time, and be looked after by our experienced team throughout the day. It's a full day of the DDCB day care experience — on us.

Important details:

  • The offer is available to dogs currently enrolled in DDCB group classes (5-week program)

  • Booking in advance is required — contact our team to secure your spot

  • Drop-off is from 6:30am, with pick-up until 6:30pm Monday to Friday

  • Owners must remain contactable and available throughout the day in case an early pick-up is recommended — this helps us make sure your dog's first experience is a positive one

  • Standard day care health and vaccination requirements apply (see vaccination details below)

  • The offer is available until further notice

If you're already thinking about group classes and have been wondering whether day care might also be a good fit for your dog — this is the perfect opportunity to try both and see what works.

Why Group Training Classes Are the Best Investment You Can Make Right Now

Let's talk about group classes properly, because the free trial aside, they're genuinely one of the most valuable things you can do for your dog — especially if you're in those critical early months.

What Happens in a Group Class?

Group training at DDCB is a structured, 5-week program run by experienced trainers. Each session builds on the last, introducing and reinforcing skills in a real-world environment — meaning other dogs, people, smells, and distractions are all present. This is intentional.

It's easy to get your dog sitting perfectly in your living room. It's a lot harder to get them to respond to you reliably when there's a Golden Retriever puppy bouncing past, or when they're at the dog park surrounded by exciting smells. Group classes train your dog in the messy, wonderful, distracting environment that real life actually looks like.

Skills covered in our group classes include:

  • Foundational obedience cues such as sit, drop, and recall (come) — practised and proofed in a real-world group environment

  • Loose-lead walking and leash manners — one of the most common frustrations for dog owners, addressed in a structured setting

  • Neutrality and calmness around other dogs and people — learning to remain composed even when there are distractions nearby

  • Building focus and responsiveness to their owner in a group context

  • Learning, reinforcing, and proofing skills so they hold up outside the home, not just in your living room

Who Are Group Classes For?

Our group classes are suitable for a range of dogs:

Puppies who've completed or are in puppy school: Group obedience is the natural next step after puppy school. Your pup has the foundations — now it's time to build on them in a more demanding environment.

Adolescent dogs: This is the stage where many owners feel like their dog has completely forgotten everything. The teenage phase in dogs is real — they're testing boundaries, getting easily distracted, and their hormones are all over the place. There's no fixed upper age limit for this stage; if your dog is still showing adolescent behaviour patterns, group classes are incredibly valuable for getting things back on track before habits solidify.

Adult dogs needing a refresher: Whether you've recently adopted an adult dog, moved to a new environment, or simply feel like your dog's manners have slipped, group classes are a great way to reset and reinforce good behaviour.

Owners who want to build their own skills: This is important and often overlooked — group classes aren't just for the dog. They're for you too. You'll learn how to use positive reinforcement effectively, how to read your dog's signals, and how to practise between sessions so the training actually sticks.

Common Questions About the Offer

Do I need to book the trial day in advance?

Yes — please contact our team to book your trial day in. This ensures we have space and can prepare for your dog's arrival.

That's completely fine — most trial dogs are first-timers. Let our team know and we'll make sure the introduction is gradual and positive.

Absolutely. In fact, for dogs who attend day care, we also offer in-house training that integrates training into their day care day — so the learning is constant and consistent.

Requirements differ depending on age and service. For day care, adult dogs must have a current C5 vaccination. For group classes, puppies need to have completed at least 2 C4 vaccinations before attending. Adult dogs attending group classes require a current C5. If you're unsure what your dog has had, check with your vet or contact our team and we'll help clarify.

Nervous dogs are welcome. Our team is experienced with anxious and shy dogs, and we take introductions slowly and carefully. Many of the most nervous first-timers end up being our most enthusiastic regulars.
