Welcome to Doggy Day Care Brisbane. Do you live and work in or near the City, South Brisbane or West End? No need to leave your pooch at home any longer. We understand that our fur friends experience boredom and social isolation from spending long hours at home by themselves, so we have created an enrichment and activity based day care. With loads of puzzles, toys, water games, scent work, obedience training and more they'll return home happy, balanced, attentive, obedient and worn out.
Doggy Day Care has a fantastic central location in West End and our local village theme is "your dog's backyard."
Established in 2018 we have become the 'go to' for all things doggo! We are an active member in our West End community and believe day care is an integral part of an inner city fur kids life.
We look forward to welcoming you and your pooch into the DDCB family.
Founder Kaz Kelly
My journey to open DDCB has a been a natural one as my life has been surrounded by animals and I learnt early on the importance of their welfare. I started my career as a Detector Dog Handler for Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service at Brisbane International Airport. I retired with my Beagle Saige and became an RSPCA Inspector where my training continued in animal behaviour and handling.
The travel bug has itself firmly planted in me so in 2014 I took an opportunity and moved to Cambodia to run a not for profit animal rescue before returning to work as an investigator for both local council and the Federal Government.
In November 2017 while running in the state elections I realised how many dogs in South Brisbane needed a place to call their own and from this DDCB was born. We opened on April 7th 2018.
I have a keen interest in the links between domestic violence and animal cruelty and I have served as a board member on two organisations in the sector.
In my limited spare time you can catch me (if you can - get it!?) racing go-karts and I represented Australia at the Sodi World Finals in Italy a couple of years ago. I am an active member and candidate for the Animal Justice Party with my most recent election campaign being for Lord Mayor of Brisbane.
I live in West End and I am a proud fur mum to Saige (my ex-sniffer dog).
